Reporting Incidents, Near Misses & Hazards

In the workplace it is critical to report all near misses, hazards and incidents as soon as they occur. No matter how big or small they are.

Example of a near miss:

- A box has fallen whilst container devanning and narrowly missed hitting you.

- The truck transporting equipment to the site almost reversed into you.

Example of a hazard:

- A spill on the ground.

- Product which looks like it might fall over.

- Uneven surfaces in which you could trip on.

Example of an incident:

- You accidentally got a small cut on your finger when handling some product.

- You grabbed a box the wrong way and it bent your finger back.

- You slipped on a wet area, but nothing was damaged and you are not injured.

How to report these:

- Tell site management immediately.

- Tell MoreStaff management immediately.

- Every site will have a designated health & safety officer, talk to that person.

Always:

- If the incident requires immediate medical attention, freeze the scene, find the first aid officer or call 111.
