Christchurch MPI Accredited Person for Container Devanning

What are MPI Accredited Persons (AP)? And what do they do?

MPI APs, otherwise known in full as Ministry of Primary Industries Accredited Persons as people who are present while container devanning occurs to ensure the protection of New Zealand's biosecurity risks associated with importing shipping containers.

When we import product, there are numerous risks associated with this - for example the entry of foreign spiders, insects and soils into our country, which can cause extensive damage to our biodiversity.

It's important that an AP is present for the following reasons:

  1. It's part of MPI requirements to be able to unload imported shipping containers.
  2. It protects our biodiversity.
  3. It ensures that the site meets the TF requirements and doesn't risk losing this status.

At MoreStaff we can offer a range of services, including supply temporary MPI APs for container unloading.
